Shilpa Sangameswaran is a Senior Associate at Mani Chengappa & Mathur, working at the firm since October 2021. Her general areas of practice include labour and employment, privacy and data protection, technology transactions and general commercial transactions.
She assists clients with drafting, reviewing and negotiating various types of contracts, including services agreements, software procurement agreements, software as a service and cloud computing agreements, product licensing agreements and manufacture licensing agreements. In addition to transactional matters, Shilpa advises clients on employment related matters including policy development, regulatory compliance, compensation and benefits, and corporate governance issues. She also advises clients on privacy and data protection laws by proposing changes to ensure compliance with the changes in the prevailing legal framework and conducting transfer impact assessments.
Prior to joining the firm, Shilpa was part of the Legal Managed Services team at one of the Big Four consulting firms, where she provided end-to-end contract review and management services for clients. She provided legal support to clients by working closely with in-house legal counsels on commercial and telecommunications contracts.
Shilpa holds a BA LLB (Hons.) from National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi. Outside of her legal practice, she is a certified PADI Open Water Diver with a deep interest in marine exploration.
